Look at this. Even the bottle is a work of art. It’s perfection. Perhaps it’s too good to share.

According to internets, Zafiro Añejo costs $595 a bottle. Personally, tequila is one of my many kryptonites. I can’t go near the stuff. So spending almost five hundred quid on something like this wouldn’t be happening in several lifetimes, even if it’s the best of the best. Though, thinking about it, I’d probably be reaching for the salt and lemons if I had to choose between this and crystal meth. Which of course I’ve never done. I feel like it’s one of those things you just don’t ever need to do. Like listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The drink itself is fictional, though originally the plan was to get some cheeky product placement on the go. When that eventually fell through, Zafiro Añejo was born. It actually features in both Breaking Bad *and* Better Call Saul (actually more in the latter, even), but you’ve got to stick with the original, haven’t you. Glad you agree.

For the Spanishly challenged amongst you, Zafiro Añejo translates to roughly ‘aged sapphire’. Given that tequila is made from the blue agave plant, this makes sense. Not really sure what the Bombay Sapphire people are playing at. Urgh. Gin. Another monstrous drink.

I know, I know. The Star of Bombay. Please remember that Bombay doesn’t exist anymore, thanks.
