So the Likeys are tonight and I see a lot of normy-cocks saying how excited they are. Well they better be. Because me and the Ghost Army are gonna roll up on that ceremony and unleash the fire of free speech to the people.

God bless YouTube. And despite tendencies towards agnosticism, I really mean that. I genuinely don’t know what I’d do without it. Nobody really watches telly anymore, do they? Certainly not at the time of original broadcast. That would be absolutely mental in the 2020s. My issue with YouTube is when a ‘personality’ is attached to it. Then, it can absolutely fuck off. Whether it’s MrSweatShop or the Chuckle Brothers, it makes me die inside.

Which is kind of where we are with Pls Like. Which does give a slightly more palatable, British bent on things, despite being entirely fictitious. Within the show we’ve got a mixed bag of vloggers and influencers, ranging from cosmetics to politics, ASMR to pranksters and ending up at DumpGhost. He’s like one of the twats I mentioned earlier and his real name is Chad Yan Larsen Michaelson. Now, given the obvious Scandinavianness of his name, I think it’s fairly easy to work out who he’s based on. A pro-free speech, anti-censorship alt-right lite millionaire with fractionally less talent than plankton. At least plankton keeps whales alive. Got a bit heavy there, din’t it? Either way, DumpGhost isn’t actually as odious as his real-life counterpart. Which I know isn’t particularly difficult. Whether you’d want his logo on your chest purely because of that is your call.

The logo itself is featured in the show, but I have modified it somewhat. It’s graffiti-esque with the typography but I’ve toned that down in some areas for legibility, and also expanded the thing so that all the letters connected where they didn’t before. The colour scheme and outer splashy bits are entirely invented by me. The emoji is from the show mostly as-is. I didn’t want to mess with that too much as it’s quite on the nose. Ghosts are white and a shit is a dump – what more do you need? And it kind of reminded me of dog shit in the 80s (which was traditionally white if you’re too young to know that).

Yes, nostalgic animal faeces is where this ended up. Nice one.
