Stentonford and Hersham District Council

The Waldo Moment

You’re a joke. You look less human than I do and I’m a made up bear. What are you? You’re just an old attitude with new hair. Assuming you’re my superior because I’m not taking you seriously? No one takes you seriously, that’s why no one votes.
We’re entering the fray of the more maligned Black Mirror episodes. The Waldo Moment isn’t held in as high regard as many of the others. Though the bar is set pretty high, you’d have to say. I personally like it because it does seem like something that feasibly could happen in my lifetime. I mean let’s face it, most politicians IRL have less charisma than a fictional, animated blue bear, don’t they? And half the time they’re cracking ‘jokes’ on social media like they think they’re Frankie fucking Boyle. Or getting their cocks out (if they have them). So I’m actually quite surprised that this hasn’t already happened. I think this is the closest we got.
Unsurprisingly, Stentonford and Hersham doesn’t exist. Well, technically Hersham does exist. And it’s in Surrey. I don’t think for the purposes of this programme that they mean that one, though. So this is my version of what that constituency’s district council logo would look like. I’ve done a few of these before and let me tell you…researching them isn’t the high octane rollercoaster you would assume it to be. Ordinarily an overbearingly tepid and tedious affair, the design of this one mercifully jumped out at me. High Wycombe to the rescue. Pretty sure that’s the only time that’s ever happened. What I mean by that is that you can tell that a lot of the outside filming locations are in High Wycome. Well, I can. Because I used to live there. I have a pretty hefty CV of terrible dwelling places, as it goes. Find out more if you dare.
I’d also like to put on record how good I thought Daniel Rigby was in the show, despite him being the insuffereable twat Simon off the BT adverts for what seemed like decades. If you can overcome that obstacle, you definitely get my vote.
