Barrie’s Red Cola

from

Limmy's Show

Price range: £28.00 through £30.00

Sparkling, tasty and refreshing. A great companion on any adventure.

You can say what you like about Limmy – he’s old, he’s bald, his teeth are yellower than an avalanche of baby chicks decimating a custard factory – but he’s got me through three lockdowns and counting*. And mostly on a daily basis. If you ever visit his stream, be sure to say ‘kill jester’ or ask him something about the weight of steel and / or feathers. He will love it.

Every website out there has this down as ‘Barry’s’ Red Cola. I’m here to tell you that they’re wrong. Red Cola / Kola exists and ‘Barrie’s’ is a portmanteau of the two most well known producers of such a thing. Also, ‘Barrie’ has won £20 in the actual sketch. Sorry internet, you lose this one.

And the sketch itself? It stars a regularly appearing character called Falconhoof, who beckons you forward to begin a Knightmare-style, interactive video game on the telly called Adventure Call. To the Gallicly futuristic sounds of Jean-Michel Jarre in the background. His many scrapes include accidentally buying alloy wheels for an already well off man’s son, having an argument with love interest Stacey, the aforementioned jester killing and this. Which, if you haven’t already watched the linked clip, is an effectively an adventure on the show being littered with mentions of the soft drink. Mentions which Falconhoof gets increasingly pissed off at. The man clearly lives for his art.

And yes, that is a jester’s hat you see atop the Barrie’s logo. Despite me insinuating that it was passé earlier. I’m not too proud to be out of date and lame, man. Those are like my special moves.
