Sol Dangerfield Casting Agents

She’s got a part in ‘The Bill’. She’s playing a shoplifter. Oh. That’s quite good.

Sol Dangerfield? Who’s that? Even the most ardent, battle-hardened Partridge fan may struggle with this one because he (presumably he) is only mentioned once and never seen. However, coupled with the phrase ’40 year old scorcher’, things become much clearer. Alan utters the words when prompting Lynn to find a stand-in wife for his appearance on the production of the promo video for Hamilton’s Water Breaks. A vegetarian Doon Mackichan ensues.

There are plenty of casting agencies out there to pick apart and what’s strange to me is that, in a branding sense, they’re very conservative. Their logos are all lowercase, sans serif fare, almost like they’re solicitors rather than dealing with creative people in the arts. This one is very loosely based on a big hitter that sounds more American than it actually is.

So, what’s the sun all about? Well, given the supposedly straight-laced design environment I wanted to inject a bit more ‘fun’ into proceedings and it’s kind of staring you in the face; ‘sol’ being ‘sun’ in many languages (OG Latin, obviously Spanish and Portuguese but even the Nordic lads are in on it). Considering the aforementioned ‘scorcher’ line, it’s a bit of a shoe-in.

By the way, if you’re looking for paraphernalia regarding Hamilton’s themselves, you won’t find it here. They’re a bit to obvious. A bit too watery. Get yourself down to Redbubble if that’s your vibe. But if Redbubble go AWOL you’re up slack alley. Now who’s it to be, me or Redbubble?

Kiss my face (optional).
